Amy Sneed Barrios began Multimedia Solutions in 2014, following a 17 year career in television news. As a news producer, she wrote the evening news. As the Executive Producer, she managed the news coverage, and oversaw the content written by producers and reporters.
Amy truly has an “insiders” advantage to getting her clients the coverage and promotion they seek, because she’s been there. She understands what it takes to get news coverage. She knows what producers, reporters and assignment editors are looking for as they build their newscasts. She knows exactly who to pitch your story to, how to pitch it so it gets covered, and equally as important – when to pitch it so it gets the most coverage possible.
Amy worked as an award-winning producer, Executive Producer and assignment editor in television newsrooms across Louisiana and in Dallas, Texas. As the Executive Producer at WDSU-TV for 11 years, she led the newsroom during such crisis events as Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf Oil Spill. She spent the night Katrina hit inside the Superdome producing WDSU’s live coverage. She has personal contacts at every media outlet in the Greater New Orleans area as well as the national networks. Amy has produced numerous live political debates, including two debates in 2006 focusing on the race for New Orleans Mayor, co-moderated by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and aired nationwide on MSNBC. Amy freelanced for The Ellen DeGeneres Show and also works with international clients who are looking to do business in New Orleans. She has quickly become the “go-to” person for out of town companies looking for the pulse, culture and traditions of the city.
Amy is married to her elementary school sweetheart, Antonio. They have 2 sons, Maximo and Leonardo. Their family is a host family for the charity, HeartGift. The non-profit brings sick kids from underdeveloped countries to Children’s Hospital to have free life-saving heart surgery. HeartGift Host Families invite the child and a parent into their home for up to 6 weeks during the surgery and recovery. The Barrios family hosted their second HeartGift patient, a toddler and his parents from the Philippines in March and April 2016.
Amy has a no-quit attitude, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. In only her first year of business, she landed some of the most high-profile media consulting contracts in the city, including the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office and the New Orleans Firefighters Union. Her work puts her on top of the list helping Judges, doctors, small business owners, community leaders and others – whether it’s creating press releases, writing speeches, spearheading online campaigns or consulting.
